SAGA RULES OF GOLF GROUP
Providing Rules Referees for Golf Tournaments for the San Antonio and surrounding areas.
The SAGA Rules of Golf Group is a division of San Antonio Golf Association and a volunteer organization promoting a sincere interest in golf and the true spirit of the game. The group is dedicated to teaching people the Rules of Golf in accordance with the USGA. The group prepares the golf course and establishes the conditions under which a competition is to be played. SAGA Rules of Golf Group also officiates the tournament.
Monthly Meetings
SAGA Rules of Golf Group meets at Chester's Hamburger's in their “Party Room” on the third Monday of each month at 6pm. Chester's location is at highway 281 and Thousand Oaks. A member will present a Rule of Golf or other matters related to Rules Refereeing. There usually is a discussion on some Rules situations that occurred at recent tournaments. These meetings last about one hour. Most people arrive 30-45 minutes early so they can order and dine in the Party room. Anyone wanting to learn the USGA Rules of Golf is welcome to attend. There is no charge but you do pay for any food or drinks you order. No RSVP is required, just show up.

About SAGA Rules of Golf Group
The group was formed in 2001 by Ralph Myers when the volunteer USGA Committee Members and a few other volunteer Rules Referees wanted to meet monthly to discuss Rule situations that they experienced while working qualifiers.

There are an array of Golf Tournaments over the course of the year that SAGA Rules of Golf Group officiates. We also conduct Rules of Golf seminars upon request.
Training & Education Programs
GSA Rules of Golf Group has a volunteer training program for prospective Rule Officials. Depending on the number of participants attending one of these training sessions, there is “in class” and “on course” training that will take place.
