The Valero Energy Foundation has created a wonderful recipe for fundraising success. Start with a commitment to “give back” to the communities where Valero does business. Sprinkle in a great relationship with Valero business partners who share this commitment. Mix these two ingredients with the excitement surrounding the PGA TOUR’s Valero Texas Open and the result is an instant classic. Since 2002 when the Benefit for Children Golf Classic became part of tournament week for the Valero Texas Open, the event has generated more than $16.4 million for charity. The combined total of the Valero Texas Open and the Valero Texas Open Benefit for Children is an astonishing $21 million.
The Valero Energy Foundation annually donates funds from the Benefit for Children Golf Classic to children’s charities nominated by Valero employees that participate in Birdies for Charity®.
