How to Get Started

Who is Eligible

Any private or public school program is eligible provided the funds raised remain in the San Antonio and surrounding areas. Any school program can participate: the booster club, PTA, band, athletics department, Project Graduation, etc (multiple programs within a school are welcome). It’s free to join; and easy to print out a 2010 registration form. On November 14, you will be invited to a Kick Off breakfast to get fundraising ideas and receive the tournament tickets you need to get started.

Your Responsibilities

  1. Your main responsibility is to sell tickets to the Valero Texas Open on behalf of your school program.
  2. All money collected must be turned in to Golf San Antonio by 5 p.m. on May 3, 2010.
  3. Must reach a fundraising minimum of $500 to register for Chip In for Schools program in 2011.

Golf San Antonio’s Responsibilities

  1. Provide fundraising material.
  2. Provide tournament tickets.

Fund-raising Ideas

For schools, consider utilizing open house nights, PTA meetings, athletic games and school functions, and having students solicit friends and family. Don't be shy about using your school marquee to help promote your sales initiative.

Promote the tickets as a great stocking stuffer gift for the holiday season.

Don’t forget to send out reminders to your database by mail, email, newsletter, Web site, Web link and even by neighborhood business support.
