Information for the Greater San Antonio Women’s Championship
76th Greater San Antonio Women's Championship & 1st Greater San Antonio Senior Women's Championship June 5 - 7, 2009 Brackenridge Park Golf Course
Eligibility: Any woman residing in Bexar, Comal, Kendall, Wilson, Atascosa, Medina, Guadalupe, or Bandera counties for a minimum of three months prior to the residents are exempt from three month residency requirement. Any woman who is 18 years of age, on or before June 5, 2009, is eligible for the Women's Championship. Any woman who is 50 years of age, on or before June 5, 2009 is eligible for the Senior Women's Championship.
Entry Fee: $125 (includes green fees) Entry Deadline: - 6:00 p.m., Friday, May 29, 2009 - Field limited to the first 156 paid entries received. (Or the number required to complete a group of three) - Late enries will be admitted on a space available basis only. - Players who withdraw after the deadline will recieve no refund. - Players withdrawing before the deadline are subject to a $15.00 service fee. Format - 54 Hole Stroke Play, Flighted - Gross - Women's Championship & Senior Women's Championship - Rounds One & Two: Flight determination for Final Round (Scores carry over) - Flights will be determined based on the number of entries - Top 10 finishers in the Women's and Senior women's Championship receieve invitation to play in "2009 Tournament of Champions" Rules of Golf: - Play will be governed by the Rules of Golf as approved by the USGA. - All players must conform with the USGA Rules of Amateur Status as specified in the USGA Rules of Golf. - Rules Committee decisions will be final. - Appropriate attire (no short shorts, etc) is required. - Caddies and pull carts are permitted. - In this competition, a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only, devices and distance information from devices can be shared with other players. Awards: - The Women's Greater San Antonio City Championship Trophy and Senior Women's Championship Trophy will be awarded to the low gross in each Championship. - Super Senior Medalist award will be given to teh woman, age 65 or older, with the low gross total three day score. - Team Trophy: A perpetual trophy awarded to the club that has the lowest combined net scores of four of it's members scored on teh first day of play. The name of the winning club is engraved on teh trophy, which remains with the winners for one year. Carts: Carts are limited to two (2) carts per group. Riders will be paired to allow cart sharing when possible. However, if pairings require a player to ride alone, they will only be charged for half a cart.
