Information for the Greater San Antonio Senior Men’s Championship
16th Greater San Antonio Senior Men's Championship May 2 - 4, 2008 Woodlake Golf Club
Eligibility: Any male with amateur status, 50 years or older as of May 2, 2008, and residing in Bexar, Comal, Kendall, Wilson, Atascosa, Medina, Guadalupe, or Bandera counties for a minimum of three months prior to the Championship date. (Military residents are exempt from three month residency requirement) Entry Fee: $115 (includes green fees and warm up balls) Entry Deadline: - 6:00 p.m., Friday, April 25, 2008 - Field limited to the first 159 paid entries received. (Or the number required to complete a group of three) - Any late entries will be admitted on a space available basis only. - Players who withdraw after the deadline will recieve no refund. Flights & Format: Open Division: - 54 Hole Stroke Play - Gross - Blue Tee Markers - Rounds One & Two: Flight determination for Final Round. (Scores carry over) - Flights: Championship: Top 40 and ties First Flight: Top 30 and ties Second Flight: Top 30 and ties Third Flight: Top 30 and ties
* Top 20 finishers in Championship Flight recieve invitation to play in "2008 Tournament of Champions" * Champion recieves invitation to play in 2008 Menefee / Blaylock Cup
Super Senior Division (Ages 65 and over): - 54 Hole Stroke Play - Gross - Number of Flights will be determined by the number of entries. Rules of Golf: - Play will be governed by the Rules of Golf as approved by the USGA. - All players must conform with the USGA Rules of Amateur Status as specified in the USGA Rules of Golf. - Rules Committee decisions will be final. - Appropriate attire (collared shirt) is required. - Caddies and pull carts are permitted. - In this competition, a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only, devices and distance information from devices can be shared with other players. Carts: Carts are limited to two (2) carts per group. Riders will be paired to allow cart sharing when possible. However, if pairings require a player to ride alone, they will only be charged for half a cart. Practice Round: Woodlake Golf Club will offer contestants a practice round Green Fee of $15.00 per person (cart not included) on Weekdays and after 12 noon on Weekends and Holidays during the month of April (April 1- April 30).
