Information for the Greater San Antonio Match Play Championshipdfgd Greater San Antonio Men's, Senior Men's, Women's Match Play Championship
Qualifying Round: March 29th or March 30th Championship: April 3 - 6, 2008 Mission Del Lago Golf Course fdfg Eligibility: Any male or female, depending on which division, with amateur status, 18 years or older as of March 29, 2008, residing in Bexar, Comal, Kendall, Wilson, Atascosa, Medina, Guadalupe, or Bandera counties for a minimum of three months prior to the Championship qualifier date. (Military residents are exempt from the three month residency requirement) Entry Fee: Qualifier: $35 Championship: $115 (includes green fees and warm up balls) Entry Deadline: - 6:00 p.m., Friday, March 21, 2008 - Field limited to the first 220 paid entries received. (Or the number required to complete a group of three) - Any late entries will be admitted on a space available basis only. - Players who withdraw after the deadline will recieve no refund. Rules of Golf: - Due to ongoing tournament schedule conflicts with the TGA and the USGA, the Golf San Antonio Amateur Committee has made a decision to allow the first round score of that event to count towards a qualifying score (with slope rating adjustments) for the Match Play Championship. These adjustments will only apply to TGA and USGA events and will be noted in future entry forms. - Play will be governed by the Rules of Golf as approved by the USGA. - All players must conform with the USGA Rules of Amateur Status as specified in the USGA Rules of Golf. - Rules Committee decisions will be final. - Appropriate attire (collared shirt) is required. - Caddies and pull carts are permitted. - In this competition, a player may obtain distance information by using a device that measures distance only, devices and distance information from devices can be shared with other players. Schedule: Men's & Senior Men's Competition will be in two stages: 1. Stroke Play - 18 holes stroke play held March 29th or March 30th to determine 64 qualifiers for match play in each division. A tie for last qualifier's place shall be decided immediately by a scorecard playoff. 2. Match Play - General numerical draw will be used. All matches at 18 holes. *Quarterfinalists in each division receive invitation to play in "2008 Tournament of Champions" *Champions recieve invitation to play in 2008 Menefee / Blaylock Cup
Schedule: Women's Competition will be in two stages: 1. Stroke Play - 18 holes stroke play held March 29th or March 30th to determine top 16 or 32 (depending on the number of entries) qualifiers for match play. A tie for last qualifier's place shall be decided immediately by a scorecard playoff. 2. Match Play - General numerical draw will be used. All matches at 18 holes. *Quarterfinalists receive invitation to play in "2008 Tournament of Champions" dfs Carts: Cart are limited to two (2) carts per group. Riders will be paired to allow cart sharing when possible. However, if pairings require a player to ride alone, they will only be charged for half a cart. Awards Ceremony: April 6, 2008 - immediately following play, Mission Del Lago Golf Course
