Information for the Greater San Antonio Junior Match Play Championship
6th Greater San Antonio Junior Match Play Championship June 23 - 26, 2009 Riverside Golf Course
Eligibility: Any boy or girl residing in Bexar, Comal, Guadalupe, Kendall, Wilson, Medina, Atascosa or Bandera counties for a minimum of three months prior to the Championship, who has not reached their 19th birthday on or before June 23, 2009. Those players who have graduated from high school may only play the season directly following high school graduation. Any junior that has graduated from high school and enrolled in college is not eligible to play in the championship. Military dependents are exempt from the three month residency requirement. Entry Fee: 18 Holes - $65 9 Holes - $45 Entry Deadline: - 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 16, 2009 - Field for Divisions III - Championship is limited to the first 168 paid entries.. Schedule: Monday Rules Seminar 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. - The Polo field Golf Center Tuesday Qualifier - Stroke Play Wednesday a.m. - First round p.m. - Second round Thursday a.m. - Third round p.m. - Quarterfinal round Friday a.m. - Semifinal round p.m. - Final round Male and Female Divisions: Championship Ages 17-18 Qualifier: 18 HolesDivision I Ages 14-16 Qualifier: 18 Holes Division II Ages 11-13 Qualifier: 18 Holes (Girls 9 Holes) Division III Ages 8-10 Qualifier: 9 Holes Division IV Ages 5-7 Qualifier: Coed Par 3 Course (9 Holes) *Cuts will be determined by the number of entries in each division. Consolation rounds will be determined by the number of entries in each division. Match Play Rules Seminar: Monday, June 22, 2009, 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. All players and parents are invited to attend the Rules Seminar. The Match Play Rules Seminar is not mandatory – however, attendance is strongly recommended as Match Play rules are different from Stroke Play. Location: The Polo Field Golf Center – Home of The First Tee of San Antonio, 915 E. Mulberry. Rules and Regulations: - Competition will be in accordance with the USGA Rules of Golf. - Any boy or girl 13 years of age or older may declare for the Championship Division provided he or she does so before June 23, 2009 and is approved by the committee. All boys and girls age 16 - 18 will automatically be in the Championship Division. - Appropriate attire required during competition. Shirts must have collars. Tank tops, jeans, and short-shorts are not permitted. - Championship and Divisions I, II, & III may have non-parent caddies. - Division IV may have parent caddies. *Male and Female Champions from the Championship Division receive an exemption to play in the 2009 AJGA Valero Texas Open Junior Shootout. *Quarterfinalists in the Male & Female Championship Divisions receive invitations to play in “2009 Tournament of Champions” Awards Ceremony: Friday, June 26, 2009 - immediately following play, Riverside Golf Course
