Information for the Greater San Antonio Junior Championship
Greater San Antonio Junior Championship July 22 - 25, 2008 Olmos Basin Golf Course & San Pedro Golf Course
Eligibility: Any boy or girl residing in Bexar, Comal, Guadalupe, Kendall, Wilson, Medina, Atascosa or Bandera counties for a minimum of three months prior to the Championship, who has not reached their 19th birthday on or before July 22, 2008. Those players who have graduated from high school may only play the season directly following high school graduation. Any junior that has graduated from high school and enrolled in college is not eligible to play in the championship. Entry Fee: $60 Entry Deadline: - 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 15, 2008 - Field limited to the first 225 paid entries or the number to complete a group of three in each division. Divisions: Male Championship Ages 16-18 18 Holes Tuesday-Friday (Championship will be cut after 2 days to form a Championship Consolation Division) Division I Ages 14-15 18 Holes Tuesday-Friday Division II Ages 12-13 18 Holes Wednesday-Friday Division III Ages 10-11 9 Holes Wednesday-Friday Division IV Ages 8-9 9 Holes Wednesday-Friday Division V Ages 6-7 3 Holes Wednesday-Friday Female Championship Ages 16-18 18 Holes Wednesday-Friday Division I Ages 14-15 18 Holes Wednesday-Friday Division II Ages 12-13 9 Holes Wednesday-Friday Division III Ages 10-11 9 Holes Wednesday-Friday Division IV Ages 8-9 9 Holes Wednesday-Friday Division V Ages 6-7 3 Holes Wednesday-Friday d Rules and Regulations: - Competition will be in accordance with the USGA Rules of Golf. - Any boy or girl 12 years of age or older may declare for the Championship Division provided he or she does so before July 22, 2008 and is approved by the committee. All boys and girls age 16 - 18 will automatically be in the Championship Division. - Appropriate attire required during competition. Shirts must have collars. Tank tops, jeans, and short-shorts are not permitted. - Championship and Divisions I, II, & III may have non-parent caddies. - Divisions IV & V may have parent caddies. - Stroke Play – All Divisions. * Male and Female Champions from the Championship Division receive an exemption to play in the 2009 AJGA Valero Texas Open Junior Shootout. * Top 20 finishers in the Male & Female Championship Divisions receive invitations to play in “2008 Tournament of Champions” Rules Seminar: Monday, July 21, 2008, 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at The Polo Field Golf Center – Home of The First Tee of San Antonio. All players and parents are invited to attend the Rules Seminar. The Rules Seminar is not mandatory – however, attendance is recommended. Awards Ceremony: Friday, July 25, 2008 - immediately following play, Olmos Basin Golf Course
